SANIpore® PVF – PVDF Capsule Filter
The SANIpore® PVF series PVDF capsule filters are ready-to-use, sterilizing-grade devices featuring a single-layer hydrophilic PVDF membrane. They offer broad chemical compatibility and low protein binding, making them well-suited for the final filtration of high-value biological solutions such as vaccines, antibodies, plasma-derived products, and hormone injectables.
Each filter is assembled in an ISO Class 10,000 cleanroom and undergoes 100% integrity testing to ensure batch-to-batch reliability. The high-efficiency PVDF membrane provides a large filtration area, delivering high flow rates with low pressure drop. A durable polypropylene housing ensures structural strength and chemical resistance.

The SANIpore® PVDF capsule filter is designed for single-use applications to support sterility assurance and reduce cross-contamination risks.
Installation of the SANIpore® PVDF capsule filter is quick and straightforward, requiring no tools. It comes with standard connection options such as hose barb or sanitary fittings, allowing easy integration into existing systems. When installing, make sure the filter is oriented correctly according to the flow direction indicated on the housing. Proper venting during initial wetting helps to eliminate trapped air and ensures full membrane utilization for optimal filtration performance.

The main difference lies in their chemical compatibility and filtration properties. PES (polyethersulfone) membranes offer excellent compatibility with a broad range of solvents, acids, and bases. They are known for their low protein binding and high flow rates.
PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) membranes, on the other hand, have superior chemical resistance, making them suitable for aggressive solvents and strong acids. PVDF membranes also provide high protein binding capacity, making them ideal for protein-based applications. The choice between PES and PVDF depends on the specific requirements of the filtration process, including chemical compatibility and protein retention needs.
All materials meet the specifications for biological safety per USP Class V1-121 C for plastics. Materials of construction comply with FDA regulations for food and beverage contact use as detailed in the US Code of Federal Regulations, 21 CFR. Materials used to produce filter media and hardware are safe for use in contact with foodstuffs in accordance with EU Directives 10/2011.
